The road is steep and tortous with hairpin curves, it was ingeniously constructed by Engineer Donegani more than a hundred years ago. The road is a splendid sight from both the Adige side and the Lombardy side. It has been sulcated in many editions of the Giro d'Italia by COPPI, BARTALI, MAGNI who created a myth.
